This free, ready-to-use initiative is designed for summer camps in Quebec that host children ages 4 to 12. This activity builds on the healthy eating habits learned at school, keeping the momentum going all summer long.
👨🏼🍳 WHAT IS THE DÉFI CHEFS EN ACTION?
It’s an activity in which day camps are invited to prepare a simple and original recipe with children. Every year, a new recipe is showcased!
This challenge is designed to inspire the pleasure of cooking in children, but also to expose them to:
- Canada’s Food Guide foods;
- Simple cooking techniques;
- A new recipe!
🍓WHAT’S THE RECIPE? 🍃
For the 2026 edition, children will whip up the BaziFraiz, a delicious blend of thawed sliced strawberries, fresh basil, vanilla yogurt, milk and rolled oats.
💻HOW TO PARTICIPATE?
Summer camps are invited to complete the registration form by June 5, 2026, or until all available spots are filled. When registering, camps must select a week between June 29 and August 7, 2026, during which they will carry out the Défi CHEFS EN ACTION with the children.
Around the 3rd week of June, the materials required to complete the challenge will be sent to the participating camps:
- A grocery gift card to purchase ingredients
- Reusable cups featuring the Défi’s logo that children can take home
- A facilitator’s guide
- An activity sheet for youth
- Cooking utensils
- And more!
