Vitamins and Minerals: Allies of the Human Body
Free posters (ready to order or download) and supporting materials. With these resources, Cycle 3 elementary physical education and health teachers can talk about the role food (and more specifically a few vitamins and minerals) plays in the circulatory, skeletal, muscular and immune systems with their students. In addition, a poster on Canada’s Food Guide facilitates discussions on balanced nutrition and hydration.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
- Cycle 3 elementary students in the context of their physical education and health classes
MATERIALS INCLUDED:
- 5 posters: skeletal system, muscular system, immune system and circulatory system as well as the balanced plate from Canada’s Food Guide
- 5 two-sided information sheets for teachers designed to help them conduct their activities
This project was developed in collaboration with a pedagogical consultant and PEH teachers from the Centre de services scolaire de Portneuf.
